Welcome to Practical Martial Arts, Inc. (“PMA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By enrolling in our programs, attending classes, using our facilities, or participating in any events, you (“you,” “your,” or “participant”) agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.

Terms & Conditions

1. Membership & Billing

All memberships are set up on a recurring auto-billing plan. Tuition is charged automatically to the payment method provided at enrollment on a recurring basis (monthly, unless otherwise specified).

It is your responsibility to ensure that your payment method remains current. Declined or expired payment methods may result in suspension of participation until the account is brought up to date. PMA reserves the right to assess a reasonable administrative fee for failed payments.

2. Cancellations, Freezes & Refunds

You may cancel or freeze your membership with 30 days’ written notice submitted via email or through our front desk.

  • Billing will continue through the 30-day notice period.

  • Membership freezes are available for limited periods, subject to approval.

  • No refunds are issued for unused classes, missed sessions, or partial months once a billing cycle has begun.

  • Special programs, camps, and events may have their own refund policies as stated at the time of registration.

3. Participation & Conduct

Members, students, and guests are expected to maintain a respectful, positive, and safe environment for all. PMA reserves the right to suspend or terminate participation for conduct that endangers the safety or well-being of others, violates dojo etiquette, or disrupts the learning environment.

You agree to follow all dojo rules, instructor directions, and safety guidelines at all times. Uniforms and appropriate training attire are required for participation.

4. Health & Safety

By participating in any PMA class or event, you affirm that:

  • You (or your child) are in good health and physically capable of participating in martial arts training.

  • You will immediately inform PMA of any medical conditions, injuries, or illnesses that may affect participation.

  • You have no known communicable disease or condition that could be transmitted to others.

  • You understand that participation in martial arts carries inherent physical risks, and you voluntarily assume full responsibility for your health and safety while participating.

5. Waiver & Release of Liability

By enrolling, attending, or participating in any activity with Practical Martial Arts, Inc., you acknowledge and agree to the following:

I understand and agree that:

(a) There are inherent dangers associated with the participation in martial arts, which could result in consequences including, but not limited to, substantial bodily injury, death, illness (including illness caused by communicable disease), and significant social, psychological, or economical losses (collectively, “Adverse Consequences”).

(b) Adverse Consequences may result from the action, inaction, or negligence of the participant or others including, but not limited to, the Released Parties, or inherent risks associated with engaging in martial arts and any injury or damage that I may cause or suffer from my participation; alternatively, I agree to bear the costs of such injury or damage myself.

(c) I am willing to assume the risk of any medical or physical condition that I/my child may have, whether known or unknown, which might be exacerbated by participating in martial arts.

(d) To the best of my knowledge, I have no communicable disease, infection, illness, virus, or bacteria that might transfer to other participants.

I assume any and all risk and responsibility for any and all actions, inaction, or negligence on the part of the Released Parties. I hereby voluntarily release, forever discharge, and agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Practical Martial Arts, Inc., its owners, instructors, employees, agents, volunteers, and affiliates (collectively, “Released Parties”) from any and all claims, demands, and causes of action which are in any way connected with my participation in any events, programs, or activities, including use of PMA equipment and facilities, whether arising from the negligence of the Released Parties or otherwise.

This release, waiver, and indemnity agreement includes all claims alleging negligent acts or omissions of any Released Parties. I understand that this means I will be responsible for payment of any attorney’s fees incurred by the Released Parties in connection with any claim, demand, cause of action, or lawsuit.

6. Photography & Media Release

By participating in PMA programs or events, you grant permission for PMA to use photos or videos taken during classes or events for marketing and promotional purposes (including website, social media, and print materials), unless you opt out in writing prior to participation.
